Current Projects - Luckets, VA

The proprietors of the Luckets project had originally pioneered their project by disassembling and old Timber Frame barn that they that had acquired. To their dismay, the materials wouldn't produce a home significant enough to accommodate the family expansion they are looking forward to.

They designed a Timberpeg® traditional American barn style home to complement the rural surroundings of northern Virginia. The home will be approximately 5,000 square feet with a conventionally built mudroom with and easy connection to the garage. As you enter the home, double doors open into a wide foyer then you are greeted with the expansive great room which ushers in natural light and a picturesque view of the Shenandoah Valley.

The living area is designed to entertain with the kitchen flowing into the dining room and Great room. The Dining room will include Anderson French wood out swing patio doors that will invite you onto the first floor deck spanning the entire length of the southern exposure. A Timber frame covered porch on the southeast corner will showcase the natural setting and be a perfect setting for outdoor entertaining.

One of the very unique additions to this home is the "Away Room" which was designed to be a place of respite and from the hustle and bustle of daily living. Board and Batten cedar siding and a standing seam metal roof will complete the exterior.

The frame raising is scheduled for early March, 2006, so stay tuned for progress reports on this charming abode.
